Lunar Eclipse on Feb 20
Science North from 8: 30 pm – 12:20 am

The Sudbury Astronomy Club would like to invite the general public to experience a total lunar eclipse. This will be the world’s last total eclipse of the moon until Dec 20th 2010. The position of this years eclipse is excellently placed for viewers in North America the moon will be flanked on either side by two bright objects. On the right of the moon is Regulus the brightest star in the constellation Leo. On the left is the planet Saturn whose rings and moons will most likely add to the enjoyment of this rare event.

Paul Emile Legault and Howie Mende will be setting up for an astronomy presentation in the Gold Room by the cafeterias inside Science North.

If it is clouded over we will try to catch the eclipse though a web camera elsewhere in the world, and still see it live.

Monthly Meeting on March 14th, 7:30pm at Doran Planetarium.

Tonights meeting is currently still on.
I questioned the weather conditions and the road conditions for tonights meeting. The weather this evening is supposed to improve to light snow, and cloudy with clear breaks in the evening. Our meeting will continue as scheduled tonight (7:30pm Doran Planetarium).

Hope to see you there!

Tonights star party is canceled due to this mornings snow fall and tonights skies. The clear sky clock reports haze and low transparency.
